Me, Latha Rajasekar- I am a simple homemaker and a fun loving straight forward person.
I enjoy watching films and equally love writing about them to share it to my near and dear. I go the extra mile to encourage people around me, to learn the art of film appreciation. Through my blog posts, I try to kindle reader’s interest, to watch and enjoy films, the way I did. My passion for the medium, drives me to watch some interesting works suggested by my film society friends. When people around me attempt to appreciate the ‘art form’ through my suggestions, I am content.
The ‘Film Appreciation’ course ‘ Role of Critics’ by Rajula Shah, from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune https://lamocom.in/alocana-cinema-and-the-role-of-critics/ helped me immensely to decode the intention of the makers.
My second course was with Mr Karan Bali on ‘Film Appreciation of Indian Cinemas’, From FTII, Pune, https://lamocom.in/appreciation-of-indian-cinema-evening-online-by-karan-bali/ gave an insight of the Indian cinema’s journey to the ‘Golden era’.
The ‘Winter Film Appreciation’ course with the five time National Award winner, Mrs. Arunaraje Patil at FTII, Pune, gave an overview of all the departments of movie making and proved holistic. https://lamocom.in/winter-film-appreciation-by-arunaraje-patil/
My husband Dr. A. Rajasekar is a surgical Gastroenterologist https://www.linkedin.com/in/arthanari-rajasekar-33a039b5/ and we lived in the UK for 7 years. I excelled in my Business IT full time course at Edinburgh’s Telford College. After his FRCS degrees and his training in the UK, my husband nobly intended to move to our native town, Salem and we came back in the year 2000.
My daughter Aashika Sekar https://www.linkedin.com/in/aashika-sekar-73b18174/ is a budding scientist in the field of cancer genetics with a dual degree from IIT Delhi and a PhD from Oxford University. She is now a Researcher at Bart’s Cancer Centre, London https://www.bartscancer.london/staff/dr-aashika-sekar/.
Sending my love to them, for they are the key to my sanity.

I love your writings Latha, I only read them after I have seen the movie myself. I can never describe or detail a movie like you do or critique the way you do it. You have great critique skills and language skills. God bless you and your family
